About Kayla Richardson

Kayla Richardson began her journey in music at the age of 3 by learning to play the violin. Growing up, she played at church events, recitals, weddings, and more. At the age of 13, she began taking guitar lessons with her uncle and soon after discovered her passion for songwriting.

Kayla wrote her first song when she was 15 years old and went on to release her first EP Album "Seventeen" when she was 17.  Since then, she has written 31 songs and won numerous competitions with her original music, including Amarillo's Got Music. She has also been featured as a guest artist on multiple radio shows including The Hacker Morning Show, and KWTS: "The One". 

Kayla has been an opening artist for Lindsey Lane, Chad Miller & The Good Fortune, Rien Nash, and Hilary Marie, and has been a featured guest artist for Insufficient Funds, Young Country, Seth Ward, Mike Chism, and Nashville singer/songwriter and CMA award winning producer Trent Willmon. 

Kayla has been playing gigs around the Texas panhandle as a fiddle player and solo artist since she was 15. She also performed locally as a fiddle player and vocalist in The Band Monarch for two and a half years. Following her time in Monarch she was a part of the local band Party of 6, as well as the local band Flashbacks, playing special events across the state of Texas.

She currently performs solo and duo gigs around the panhandle with her husband Byron and their 4 piece band Woven Wild, but loves collaborating with local artists and making new friends! 

Her sound is best described as "coffee house" music or alternative folk. She plays a wide range of tunes guaranteed to please any age and she loves interacting with the crowd!
